Louise is always the first to volunteer for events and activities to promote Wickham among the businesses and has spent many hours helping to put up Christmas lights during the last few years.

Peter has twice chaired Wickham Community Association which is a very difficult job as it is such a large business and has invariably been present at the Centre during major events and activities.  Peter is also involved in many other local organisations.

Susie O'Connell

 

Susie is a long standing member of the Thursday Club committee and offers her house and garden each year for the Club’s garden party and has also hosted fund raising events for the NSPCC in her home.

Sam Marston and Sally Topp

Sam Marston manages Knowle Village Hall and has made it a success by giving a great deal of volunteer time to fundraising and community events.  Sally Topp has successfully chaired the opening of the new Village Hall as Chairman of Knowle Community Buildings Association.

Di is involved in lots of community work and on top of this helps an elderly neighbour with day to day activities that enables her to live at home.

Eric and Sheena Bright

Eric and Sheen Bright

Eric and Sheena have been deeply involved in community life since moving to Wickham in the late ‘60s.  Their work has also reached France with the forging of links through the twinning scheme with Villers-sur-mer.  Eric is Chairman of the Wickham branch of the British Legion and together with Sheena organise fundraising events and the local Poppy Appeal

Mike Betts and Dave Martin

Mike Betts and Dave Martin

Mike and Dave have worked tirelessly for Wickham over a number of years.  They started Wickham Square Events and ran a great many community events. This was followed by a new venture: Wickham Beer Festival.  The seven festivals to date have raised thousands of pounds for local groups and charities.
